Interview With Emma Meow
How did you get into modeling?
I actually got into modelling via SuicideGirls. I then had photographers that had come across me on social media contact me wanting to shoot and it all kind of stemmed from there.
You have a unique style as a model, how would you describe it?
I don’t really know. I don’t think I fit any specific mold just yet, which I like. I like that I can go from ‘sweet girl’ to ‘sex pot’ and then to modelling for street wear brands and then doing my darker, more sinister stuff.
Do any of your tattoos have any special significance to you?
Haha hmmm yes, the script on my butt. It’s basically a literal “fuck you” to everyone who bullied me through my younger years and said I was never good enough, pretty enough etc.
What’s your favorite thing about modeling in Australia?
Definitely the diversity in natural outdoor locations, even just where I live here in Queensland. You’ve got rainforest, dry outback, beaches that go forever, cane fields, pine forests and the list goes on. All within pretty close proximity to one another. It’s magical.
If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
Europe! Funnily enough, I’m actually heading over there at the end of the year.
Describe a typical Friday night for you.
My typical Friday night would be me laying in bed watching movies. I work Saturdays so my Friday nights are pretty vanilla haha.
As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be a Veterinary Nurse like my mum and that’s what became! I’m pretty proud to be able to say that.
In school, were you a good girl or a trouble maker?
I was both! I started out as a little goody two-shoes when I was younger and then when I got older it was like a switch flipped and I totally rebelled, ended up dropping out just before I turned 16 and started working full time. I sometimes wish I stayed in school and applied myself so I could have gone on to university. But if I did, I wouldn’t be the same person I am today and I have a good and rewarding career regardless.
What’s the best and worst food you’ve ever tasted?
Worst would have to have been lamb brains. It was disgusting, like a wet sponge.
Iv since made the switch to vegetarian and the best food I’ve tasted is an Asian tofu broth that I make. It is delicious!
What’s the best quality about your personality?
I think the best quality about my personality is my generosity. I will go out of my way to help my loved ones, friends and even strangers.
When I was a child I was big on sharing, which may be surprising to some… being an only child and all, and if one of my friends was playing with one of my toys and they really liked it, I would tell them they could have it. It got to the point where my mum had to sit me down and tell me that I couldn’t keep giving away my toys like that or I wouldn’t have any left. Whoever said children without siblings aren’t good sharers is full of shit haha!
Is there anything else you’d like our readers to know about you?
Most people assume my favourite animals are cats but they are in fact ducks… ‘Emma Quack’ just didn’t have the same ring to it.
