Interview With Larissa Bartolo
What or who inspired you to become a model?
I was inspired to become a model after spending a day at the beach with my parents, I looked over and there was a swimwear model shooting and I turned to my parents right away and said “I want to do that….”
You’ve worked with a lot of publications, which was your favorite and why?
I have worked with many publications world wide and each was an amazing achievement in my career, I think each and every shoot I’ve done in some way I’ve grown a little as a model, learning different aspects of the industry as well finding out things about myself too! I do feel however that playboy being one of my ultimate goals in the industry would have to be one of my most rewarding shoots yet! But there is a lot more to come…
Where would you like to see yourself next?
I have a few really interesting projects up my sleeve at the moment; and they are all really different to what you would expect to see from me, so I think for now I’ll keep that a secret haha! But let me just say the best is yet to come.
How do you prepare before a shoot? Do you have a routine?
I do try and maintain somewhat of a healthy lifestyle throughout my everyday routine and although I don’t have a set procedure I follow when I have a shoot coming up, I definitely prepare mentally which is a large aspect. Getting into the character that you are playing while in the shoot whether it be “girl next door”, “sultry”, “artistic”.
I like to mentally prepare by doing things that relax me and bring me in tune with myself such as meditation.
You’re based out of Australia, London and the US, where do you get the most work?
I’m signed by an agency in UK which gets me most of my UK/Europe based work however I’ve done freelance modelling for over 8 years now. If I want to work in the USA for the more part of my career that’s where I will push for work.
At the moment though I’m really content in Australia and in the transition process in my career it’s best to stay focussed where you are most comfortable.
What would you be doing if you weren’t a model?
I’m currently studying Marine Biology so I think my focus would be primarily in that field, however I do ask myself that question all the time & to be honest with you I really don’t have an answer. I think that this industry called me and I’m exactly where I’m meant to be haha!
What’s your favorite childhood memory?
There is all too many to be honest with you! I think that now I’ve moved from Sydney to Queensland permanently the memories of spending time with friends and the little pleasures I don’t get to see as often any more are ones I try and reflect on most.
What’s the most embarrassing thing you’ve seen someone do?
My life is full of embarrassing situations! If someone is going to embarrass themselves it’s going to be me! HaHa! I wouldn’t mind either if it put a smile on someone’s face!
If you could start a charity, who or what cause would you help with?
I would love to help homeless and helpless children, families, men and women.
What’s your favorite comfort food?
Is there anything else you’d like out readers to know about you?
Although a picture tells a thousand words, you cannot judge a book by its cover. On the outside people may think I am extremely girly girl & some people think I’m super tall haha! But in reality I’m only 5″3 and love extreme sports, being outdoors and I’m really your typical girl next door!
